SU PhD student pioneers AI app to revolutionise job applications

# A Stellenbosch University PhD student has developed a groundbreaking artificial intelligence app that could help address South Africa’s unemployment crisis. Thabo Maibi has created the Career Agent, a mobile app that scans job websites, matches openings with a user’s CV and applies on their behalf. Currently, Career Agent draws from a curated list of job portals in South Africa, Botswana and Eswatini, with some remote opportunities from abroad. For now, users pay 400-rand for a three-month subscription; however, Maibi says he is working to make the platform free.
