# Two young South African scientists will have an opportunity to showcase their innovative research at the International Festival of Engineering, Science and Technology in Tunisia next week. The two are Hamzah Ismail and Vibhav Ramdas, both Grade 12 learners at St Dominics Newcastle School in KwaZulu-Natal. Eskom’s, Parthy Chetty, says Hamzah is set to showcase his research project titled, Developing eco-friendly, fire-retardant plastic bricks as an alternative in modern construction. He says Vibhav’s research project is Using Object Detection to Improve Road Maintenance:
