# NamLamb has withdrawn from the 2026 Lamb Champs Invitational in Pretoria because of the foot-and-mouth disease outbreak in Namibia. Lamb Champs is an agricultural competition where farmers compete to determine who produces the best-tasting lamb. The Namibian team was due to compete against South African farmers on 31 October, but livestock movement restrictions and biosecurity concerns led to the withdrawal. The competition will still go ahead, with a revised format to be announced. Teams from two more countries are expected to join next year.
