# The US Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control is partially and temporarily easing restrictions on all transactions with Venezuela related to earthquake relief efforts. This follows after two powerful earthquakes struck near the capital of Caracas, killing at least 235 people and injuring over four-thousand-300. The easing of restrictions covers the processing and transfer of funds on behalf of third-country persons to or from Venezuela, provided they support operations covered by the specific authorisation.
