# Former Deutsche Bundesbank president Axel Weber, who is now at Guthe University in Frankfurt, has hailed late South African Reserve Bank governor Tito Mboweni as a patriot and economist. Speaking at the inaugural Tito Mboweni memorial lecture, Weber praised Mboweni’s role in shaping labour reforms, strengthening the central bank and promoting economic policy.
