No further sardine deaths are reported as a probe continues [SOUND]

# The Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment has received no further reports of dead or dying sardines since early this month. Widespread sardine mortality were reported along the South African and Namibian coast. Spokesperson Zolile Nqayi says the consistent detection of high levels of pilchard herpesvirus in affected sardines, including samples from the Western and the Eastern Cape, points to the virus as the most likely primary cause of deaths:
