# Renewable energy company Mulilo has reached financial close on its 337-megawatt Middlepunt Solar photovoltaic project in the Free State. The project near Welkom is the first under bid window seven of the renewable energy programme to reach this stage. Mulilo CEO Jan Fourie says once operational, the project is expected to generate about 770 gigawatt hours of electricity annually, power around 325-thousand homes, and cut more than 800-thousand tonnes of carbon emissions.
