# Minister of Trade, Industry, and Competition, Parks Tau, says South Africa will not be adopting a retaliatory stance in response to the new global tariffs imposed by the US. President Donald Trump announced a baseline ten-percent tariff on all US imports on Wednesday, with 60 countries, including South Africa, subject to higher rates.
