# Germany’s Lufthansa Airlines Group has announced its biggest-ever South African winter schedule for the 2026/27 season, increasing long-haul services between South Africa and Europe to 38-weekly flights, starting in late October. Lufthansa is adding flights between Munich and Gauteng, increasing the route to five weekly services, while the Frankfurt to Cape Town route will become a daily service. SWISS will introduce new Airbus A350 aircraft on its Zurich to Gauteng route, while Edelweiss continues up to five-weekly nonstop flights between Zurich and Cape Town.
