# The likes of Elton John, EMPIRE founder and CEO, Ghazi Shami, and afrobeats superstar, Tems, were recognised at Billboard’s inaugural Global Power Players event in London. The event celebrated music industry leaders from across the world. John collected the Creators’ Champion Award, in recognition for standing up for the creative industry, and calling for fair usage and protections for music rights holders concerning artificial intelligence models. Shami was the recipient of the coveted Clive Davis Visionary Award, while Tems received the Diamond Award.
