# Virunga National Park in the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo celebrates its centenary by producing 25-thousand handcrafted chocolate gorillas in a bid to promote conservation efforts. The 63-percent dark chocolates made from locally sourced cocoa will also promote the importance of safeguarding the endangered gorillas. They will be sold in European markets, including Belgium. The initiative aims to promote sustainable agriculture and provide alternative livelihoods to deter illegal activities like logging and poaching. Profits will support community development and conservation efforts in the park.
