An Australian couple is extremely grateful after being rescued when a sperm whale collided with their yacht off New Zealand. Jeremy and Jemma Cooper were sailing with two other crew members about 250 nautical miles north of Norfolk Island when the yacht began sinking. The four sailors spent 17 hours in a life raft before a cargo ship rescued them. The Coopers say the rescue was superbly executed and they are incredibly lucky to be alive. They say, despite the ordeal, they plan to return to the water.
