# The City of Cape Town’s Wesfleur domestic wastewater treatment works was recently recognised as one of only 14 wastewater treatment works nationally to receive Green Drop Certification from the National Water and Sanitation Department for exceptional operational performance. Mayoral committee member for Water and Sanitation, Zahid Badroodien, says the facility also received Gold Status for achieving Green Drop Certification in two consecutive assessment cycles, scoring 100-percent in 2021 and 93.5-percent in 2024:
