# The National Prosecuting Authority Gauteng has welcomed the sentences handed to the late former Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe’s son, Bellarmine Mugabe, and his co-accused, Tobias Matonhodze. The Alexandra Magistrate’s Court sentenced Mugabe to 24 months in prison or 600-thousand-rand fine for firearms and immigration charges. His cousin Matonhodze was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment for attempted murder. This is in relation to a shooting in Hyde Park in February. NPA spokesperson Magaboke Mohlatlole says they commend the prosecution team on this successful prosecution:
