# Tshwane University of Technology Public Affairs student, Khomanani Makamu, says representing South Africa at the World Student Games in Germany earlier this year was a career-defining milestone. The Games, one of the biggest multi-sport events in the world, saw 150 nations competing for medals across 18 sports. Twenty-two-year-old Makamu, a Limpopo-born basketball player, says competing against bigger, faster and more skilled opponents helped build his confidence. He says he hopes to continue representing South Africa on the global stage.
