# The South African National Parks has launched phase two of its Newlands Forest rehabilitation project in Cape Town, planting 100 Cape Beech seedlings to combat bark stripping and restore the ecosystem. The Cape Research Centre and Biodiversity team led the effort, following an earlier planting of 50 seedlings in June, which are thriving. In a statement, SANParks says it will continue monitoring growth and run awareness campaigns to promote conservation for future generations.
