Western Cape government reaffirms efforts to strengthen trade and investment ties with Canada [SOUND]

# The Western Cape government has reaffirmed the importance of strengthening trade and investment relations with Canada. In 2023, South Africa’s exports to Canada were valued at 8.28-billion-rand, with the province playing a significant role, with export receipts totalling 3.4-billion-rand. MEC of Agriculture, Economic Development and Tourism, Ivan Meyer, recently held a meeting with Canada’s minister of Finance, François-Philippe Champagne. Meyer says between January 2014 and May 2024, Canada invested in 26 projects in South Africa, totalling 15.57-billion-rand in capital expenditure:
