# The DA says Transnet’s persistent failures at the port of Cape Town are crippling exporters’ access to global markets. The party warns that despite growing interest from Western Cape businesses to expand internationally, chronic backlogs, outdated infrastructure, and inefficiencies at the port are stalling momentum.
