Richards Bay R285-million container terminal to boost capacity by 2028

# A 285-million-rand container handling facility will be developed at the Port of Richards Bay’s Bayvue precinct, following an agreement between the Grindrod Eyamakhosi Joint Venture and Transnet National Ports Authority. The project will increase the port’s annual container capacity from 50-thousand to 200-thousand Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit. It is also expected to create approximately 122 permanent jobs upon its commercial operation in 2028.
