# The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organisation which awards the Oscars, will introduce a new Stunt Design category during the 2028 ceremony. This is the newest category addition to the Oscars since last year’s Achievement in Casting, which will award its first prize next year. Academy CEO, Bill Kramer, says since the early days of cinema, stunt design has been an integral part of filmmaking, adding that it is only fitting to honour the innovative work of these technical and creative artists.
