Publishers join forces to protect content from AI

# More than 40 publishers, including the New York Times, Agence France-Presse and The Economist, have joined a coalition to stop artificial intelligence companies from using their content without permission. The group aims to develop standards and tools to track how AI systems use news reports and help publishers negotiate payment agreements. The coalition now has more than 80 members in over 20 countries, including the BBC and the Financial Times. Publishers are concerned that AI-generated answers are also reducing traffic to their websites, threatening advertising revenue.
