Matthew Rhys became the first actor in Emmy history to win multiple lead actor awards for performances in different shows in the same year, for Widow’s Bay and The Beast in Me. Jean Smart made history with a fifth consecutive win for her starring role in Hacks. The Pitt won seven awards, including Best Drama Series and Lead Drama Actor for Noah Wyle.
