# Premier Foods is set to brief unions today on alternatives to the proposed closure of its Tulbagh fruit canning factory in the Western Cape. The company has reportedly proposed options including finding investors or buyers, or relocating the facility. It announced the closure last month, just four months after its merger with Rhodes Food Group. Union federation Cosatu’s Malvern de Bruyn wants retrenchments suspended for up to two years to find a solution and save jobs.
