# The Department of Agriculture has confirmed two new cases of foot-and-mouth disease in Heilbron and Bloemfontein, bringing the Free State’s total confirmed cases to 772. Spokesperson Moliehi Moeng says 577 cases have been resolved, with affected properties meeting requirements for quarantine restrictions to be lifted. However, 195 cases remain active. The disease has now been detected across 19 municipalities, including Kroonstad, Welkom, Sasolburg and Frankfort. Authorities continue monitoring affected areas and implementing measures to contain the outbreak.
