Three lions die of heat in Tokyo zoo

# Three lions have died from suspected heatstroke at Tokyo’s Tama Zoological Park as Japan endures an intense heatwave. The three lionesses, aged three, 11 and 15, showed signs of severe dehydration and multiple organ failure. Zoo officials say it’s the first heat-related lion deaths in the facility’s 62-year history. Several other lions are receiving treatment after temperatures climbed to nearly 39 degrees Celsius in recent weeks. The lion enclosure remains closed while staff continue cooling measures and investigate the exact cause of the deaths.
