# 2024 FNB Art Prize winner, Gresham Tapiwa Nyaude’s solo exhibition titled Sugar Coats, is set to open at the Johannesburg Art Gallery tomorrow. The exhibition is part of the prize’s offering for winning. He explores his Zimbabwean identity and the complexities of African life through art. Using symbols, iconography, and playful references to political resistance, he examines the human condition while engaging with socio-political issues. Nyaude says his commitment to his practice as an artist, and a painter in particular, is a commitment to growth and evolution.
