# A new report from the World Meteorological Organisation warns that global temperatures will likely continue rising, with an 80-percent chance that at least one year between now and 2029 will be even hotter. The organisation projects that the 20-year average warming for 2015-to-2034 will reach around 1.44 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels. There is a 70-percent chance that the five-year average itself will exceed the 1.5-degree Celsius threshold. The organisations say these near-term spikes are warning signs of an accelerating climate crisis.
