# Western Cape MEC for Cultural Affairs and Sport, Ricardo Mackenzie, has celebrated the economic and cultural impact of the 29th Klein Karoo Arts Festival in Oudtshoorn. Speaking at the festival, Mackenzie highlighted that last year’s festival brought in up to 178-million-rand for the province’s economy. Mackenzie added the festival also created over 200 temporary jobs, 288 stallholder opportunities, and employment for hundreds of artists and technical staff. This year’s festival runs until Sunday.
