Port of Durban handles largest container ship in emergency docking

# The port of Durban has successfully handled its largest-ever container vessel, the MSC Rifaya, a 400-metre ship with a capacity of 19-thousand-437 containers. The unscheduled emergency docking required a four-tug operation. Acting port manager Nkumbuzi Ben-Mazwi says the operation proves Durban’s readiness and capability to manage mega-vessels. He added that the port is committed to enhancing infrastructure and services to meet growing demands in the maritime industry.
