Trump accused commissioner, Erika McEntarfer on social media of manipulating job figures for political reasons. The decision raised alarm about White House interference in economic data and the subsequent effect on the economy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics earlier reported just 73-thousand new jobs in July and revised estimates of job growth in May and June, with 250-thousand fewer jobs than previously thought.
