# South Africa has called on the US to end the economic, commercial, and financial embargo against Cuba, saying this remains the foremost impediment to the country’s attainment of its development aspirations. Cuba says the damage caused by the embargo during the period from March 2025 through February this year amounted to a record 131.2-billion-rand.
