Solidarity says minister of International Relations and Cooperation, Ronald Lamola, is mistaken to think that South Africa’s relationship with Iran is in the country’s national interest. The minister has again defended the country’s non-alignment policy, following criticism from US ambassador to South Africa, Leo Brent Bozell, over deputy president Paul Mashatile’s visit to China and Iran’s deputy Foreign minister Saeed Khatibzadeh’s visit to Pretoria.
