# Rhodes University vice-chancellor, professor Sizwe Mabizela, has announced the 2025 recipients of the coveted Distinguished Alumni Award. They are professor Michael Davies-Coleman, well-known for his research in bio-chemistry; a renowned figure in South African sports administration, John Donald, a leading figure in the country’s automotive industry, Billy Eric Tom, and current principal and vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University in Scotland, professor Steve Olivier. Mabizela says these individuals have significantly contributed to their respective fields and upheld the university’s academic excellence and leadership legacy.
