# Global renewable power grew by 15-percent in 2024, largely driven by the rapid rollout of wind and solar projects in Asia. This is according to the Renewable Energy Statistics 2025 report released by the International Renewable Energy Agency. Asia accounted for 71-percent of new renewables capacity in 2024, followed by Europe with 12.3-percent and North America 7.8-percent. IRENA director general, Francesco La Camera, says countries and regions that attract substantial investment in renewables are seeing enhanced energy security:
