Renowned photographer Omar Badsha receives an honorary doctorate from UFH

# Renowned photographer, cultural activist, and public historian, Omar Badsha, has received an honorary Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Fort Hare. This is in recognition of his exceptional contribution to the arts, his pivotal role in the anti-apartheid struggle, and his dedication to preserving South Africa’s liberation history. His significant contributions include founding the Afrapix photographers’ collective, which used visual storytelling to document the struggles of ordinary South Africans during apartheid. He received the National Order of Ikhamanga in Silver in 2018.
