Rare Sable Cruiser dragonfly spotted on KZN’s south coast

# A rare Sable Cruiser dragonfly was spotted near Renishaw Hills Community Centre on KwaZulu-Natal’s Mid-South Coast. This is only the 20th such sighting in South Africa. The image was uploaded to iNaturalist, where experts confirmed the identification. The sighting may be the southernmost ever recorded. Renishaw Hills, developed with conservation in mind, is home to 75 dragonfly and damselfly species. Scientists say the discovery highlights the importance of tracking biodiversity shifts.
