Ramaphosa pays tribute to jazz icon Abdullah Ibrahim [SOUND]

# President Cyril Ramaphosa says global jazz icon Abdullah Ibrahim’s profound creations honoured the South Africa that shaped his political commitment and musical brilliance. The 91-year-old composer and cultural activist passed away in Germany following a short illness. In 2009, he was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in Silver, in recognition of his excellent contribution to the arts. Ramaphosa spokesperson, Vincent Magwenya, says Ibrahim enriched people’s lives with his musical gifts:
