# The Presidency says president Cyril Ramaphosa is hopeful that the meeting between his US and Russian counterparts, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, will set off a process that will lead to peace negotiations. Trump and Putin will meet in Alaska today to bring the war in Ukraine to an end.
