# The Western Cape Education Department is encouraging learners to enter the School Library Competition, where learners can win school library resources to the value of 35-thousand-rand for their school. The theme for this year is, Do you speak Maths?. MEC David Maynier says learners are invited to explain ways in which Maths is a language and why it is so important. He says that through the competition, they are highlighting the relationship between mathematics and language:
