# Parliament’s Impeachment Committee chairperson, Makashule Gana, says he’s confident the Western Cape High Court will allow the Section 89 impeachment process to continue despite president Cyril Ramaphosa’s legal challenge. The president wants the process suspended pending the review of the Section 89 independent panel report, which found that he has a prima facie case to answer over the Phala Phala matter. Gana, who has been cited as the second respondent in the case, insists that Parliament has a constitutional duty to proceed:
