# One of the oldest children’s homes in South Africa, the Durbanville Children’s Home, has benefited from a 150-thousand-rand donation from the City of Cape Town’s Mayoral Fund. The home houses 144 children, aged between 2 and 18-years-old from the broader area, informal settlements, farms and rural surrounds. Mayoral committee member for Corporate Services, Theresa Uys, says the fund is part of the metro’s strategic objectives as set out in its Integrated Development Plan:
