# The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality has retained international Blue Flag status for three beaches for the 2026/27 season, strengthening the metro’s coastal tourism offering ahead of the summer holidays. Mayor Babalwa Lobishe says Kings Beach, Humewood Beach and Hobie Beach have all retained the prestigious international accreditation. Humewood Beach has also reached a milestone of 25 consecutive years in the Blue Flag Programme. Lobishe says the programme recognises beaches that meet strict standards for environmental management, water quality, safety and visitor facilities.
