# The Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety says the N1 at Witvlag is now open to traffic again, following a serious accident Malawian bus. Preliminary investigations suggest that the bus was travelling from Malawi to Gauteng, carrying 61 passengers, when it suffered a mechanical failure, causing an accident. The department’s spokesperson, Mashudu Mabata, says several people lost their lives in the crash, although the exact number is yet to be determined:
