# South Africa is mourning legendary musician Babsy Mlangeni, who has died at the age of 83 years. Mlangeni, who was blind from childhood, built a career spanning more than five decades as a celebrated singer, songwriter, composer and guitarist. Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation Lebogang Maile described Mlangeni’s death as a great loss, with his music becoming part of the lives of generations of South Africans:
