# The Motor Industry Staff Association has welcomed progress towards extending the African Growth and Opportunity Act. The US Senate has voted in favour of extending the programme for two years, which allows qualifying South African goods to enter the US without import duties. The association’s Phakamile Hlubi-Majola says this is good news for the motor industry, as stable exports help protect jobs in vehicle manufacturing, dealerships, workshops and parts distribution:
