# Gauteng traffic chief inspector Samuel Mashaba has come under scrutiny at the Madlanga commission over his handling of a truck carrying 715-kilograms of cocaine worth an estimated 300-million-rand. The drugs were concealed in a shipping container and tracked from Durban to Johannesburg in July 2021. Evidence leader Lee Segeels-Ncube questioned why the vehicle was not stopped at the Heidelberg weighbridge despite information allegedly being available to Mashaba beforehand:
