# Chief Magistrate of the Pretoria Regional Court, Vusimuzi Mahlangu, who is presiding over the case against Police Crime Intelligence head Dumisani Khumalo, has recused himself. This comes after he was subpoenaed to give evidence at the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry. KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner, Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, told the commission that the bail conditions imposed by Mahlangu on Khumalo and his co-accused were excessive and disruptive to the workings of the police service. The Investigating Directorate Against Corruption says a new magistrate will take over the case today.
