ITAC recommends duty rebate on agricultural tyres

# The International Trade Administration Commission has recommended a temporary rebate on customs duties for certain new tyres used on agricultural and forestry vehicles and machinery. The tyres, with rim sizes below 91 centimetres, are mainly used on tractors and harvesters. Itac says there are no local manufacturers of the products in the Southern African Customs Union, while import duties increase costs for the agriculture and forestry sectors. The Commission says access to the rebate will require an Itac permit and price-reduction commitments.
