HyIron Oshivela produces first green hydrogen in Namibia [SOUND]

# The electrolyser at the HyIron Oshivela plant has successfully produced its first green hydrogen, marking a pivotal moment for Namibia’s green industrialisation ambitions. The 12-megawatt electrolyser, now the largest of its kind in Southern Africa, is operating within a smart microgrid and is steadily generating green hydrogen. HyIron CEO, Johannes Michels, says the plant is capable of producing 15-thousand tonnes of Direct Reduced Iron annually in its first phase, and every ton of iron produced this way replaces 1.8 tonnes of carbon dioxide in the traditional process:
