# The Global Environment Facility has secured initial donor pledges of 64-billion-rands for its ninth replenishment cycle, reinforcing global commitment to environmental protection. Over 30 years, the fund has provided more than 443-billion-rands in grants and mobilised 155-billion for projects worldwide. Chairperson Claude Gascon says the funding signals strong international support for nature despite competing priorities. He confirmed that the new cycle will focus on sustainability, climate action, biodiversity protection, and increased support for developing countries and vulnerable communities.
